Eleven organizations want Rep. Ilhan Omar ousted from the House Foreign Affairs Committee after she continued to make disparaging and anti-Semitic remarks about Israel.
In a letter sent Monday, the petitioners demanded that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Eliot Engel to act on their previous condemnations of Omar’s antisemitism.
“In light of Rep. Ilhan Omar’s recent anti-Semitic tweets, statements, and address before Islamic Relief USA on Saturday, February 23rd, we, the undersigned organizations, request that you immediately remove her as a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.” read the letter.
Moreover, Omar plans to speak and fundraise for Islamic Relief USA, a group they claim has ties to terrorist organizations and one in which its parent organization is banned in Israel for its ties to Hamas, the letter states.
The Letter reads:
“Ilhan Omar is a fraudster and perjurer and a threat to National Security. She married her brother to gain citizenship into the USA and then denies that this happened. This is a sham marriage and is one that is entered into in order to get around (“evade”) the U.S. immigration laws.
She has recently asked for leniency in sentencing for nine Somalis found guilty of attempting to join ISIS. She has also requested for defunding Homeland Security.
She is NOT a representative of the United States but is seeking her own personal anti-Semitic agenda.
Request for her removal from Congress immediately.”
